Well, firstly I think that the hackers had no reason to hack the emails, and that the emails didn't even do much to confirm that global warming is false, but as my sister once said "politics would be so much easier if the issues were simple yes or no, but they all are 'where do you draw the moral line?'"
Lately who do there research have been deciding weather Climate Gate effects there opinion on climate change. Well, my opinion hasn't changed. someone named Hal Lewis has pretty much summed up my view in a paragraph. Here is a LINK and an snippet:"I know of nobody who denies that the Earth has been warming for thousands of years without our help, and is most likely to continue to do so in its own sweet time. The important question is how much warming does the future hold, is it good or bad, and if bad is it too much for normal adaptation to handle. The real answer to the first is that no one knows, the real answer to the second is more likely good than bad (people and plants die from cold, not warmth), and the answer to the third is almost certainly not." From my point of view, I know that the earth has always been warming, or cooling, and that humans probably contribute to it now, but "If you say that the Earth is warming you are telling the truth, but not the whole truth, and if you say it is due to the burning of fossil fuels you are on thin ice." In my opinion, being greenhouse gas friendly is the least important part of being 'green' but being nice to the non-atmospheric parts of earth is more important, cheaper, and easier. So, in my opinion, climate change is real, but it's not much our foult, and there is not much we can do about it.
